I have found the best way to avoid a binge is by eating hearty, nourishing, delicious foods that are genuinely enjoyable BUT that I don't crave. You'll do great and feel great for a couple weeks, but you're gonna have a bad day and you're still going to crave Takis. I have to say, the cleanse idea seems a bit risky to me. I've tried everything under the sun to get it under control. I have struggled with bingeing for a long time now. You want something to be mad about look at Tic-Tac nutrition labels saying 1 serving doesn't have sugar. Idk, this whole thread I'm picturing people complaining about bags of M&Ms they have in checkout aisles being deceptive even though they say SHARING SIZE really big on the front and the nutrition label clearly indicates it's 2 servings instead of one. Plus if you really want to know how much a single package is you just need to do some 3rd grade level math. Looking through our pantry all the pasta is 2oz servings, so I'm assuming that's what the FDA recommends, and if they also require whole servings 1.5oz servings would be closer to their goal than 3oz. Plus like the person I replied to pointed out it's all determined by the FDA. There are single serving cups of ramen, the packages are more meant to be split or used as ingredients, even if people usually eat the whole package. I honestly think it's more of an issue with what we perceive to be a reasonable serving than what actually makes sense. I loved reading the Dorito Effect - hope you enjoy it too! Really interesting to observe! And I mean this with zero judgement, just factual observation how flavours, foods, etc fuck with us. I distinctly giving one to a friend who doesn't have a bad diet but has a sweet tooth and she thought this bar was the most disgusting things she's ever eaten and it has no flavour. I loved these (still do!) - I find them super tasty and enjoyable. It was around this time that once in a while I would buy nakd bars as a snack - fruits, nuts, dates. Same for fresh from the yard tomatoes and cucumbers. I'm also a fiend for spicy salty crunchy things and I definitely know it fucks up your food perception in terms of flavour.Īfter a few months of no processed snacks I had a fresh mango and some in season strawberries and it blew my mind how much flavour I could taste in those fruits. I also never really had a taste for soda so I never drank that. Things like processed snacks and fast food just didn't fit in my budget. The last time I lost a lotttt of weight I was eating very 'natural' - not intentionally but I didn't have a lot of money so I cooked a lot from scratch and ate mostly veggies + protein and bought whatever fruits were cheapest and in season as snacks.
